"Greatest Generation" Life Lessons

This house on the Trumbull property has always been called “The Little House”. It was used for the housekeeper and her husband, who did odd jobs around the property and was occupied by several different families. When the boys came home from their service in World War II, various living accomadations were arranged.

Another picture of Christmas, 1947, Greg having joined the family in August. They were still living there in December of 1948, when my sister, Lynn, arrived on December 26th.

When Dan, Paulette and their daughter, Arla, arrived from France, just after Christmas in 1946, they stayed in the Big House.In 1948, their first son, Cedric, joined their family.

    Maureen – That you for sharing my families “Slice of Life” during the 1940’s and World War II. I don’t believe there is a lot of information about home life during the war and my Grandpa recorded the story of one family quite thoroughly. I enjoy sharing it with readers.
