There are still too many pitfalls and insufficient genuine helping-hands in our communities but one is also left wondering – what has happened to our communities?
Diversification of resources and the need for people to find work outside their own communities has led to the necessary migration of people for generations and this has been exacerbated by the need to accommodate refugees who have had to flee war zones over many years, as well as those escaping persecution. Then too, there are those who seek a better life and are prepared to offer their services for financial reward – but let’s face it, there’s nothing wrong with that.
We are still too quick to jump to wrong conclusions and too easily inclined to seek someone else to blame for our own shortcomings. We are none of us perfect, but it would be comforting to know there was an official line open to communicating with someone who was on our side and prepared to LISTEN.
