The guilty always find the truth embarrassing. Dodging and weaving is an old ploy for escaping your pursuers. Sad, but not exceptional that an elected member of parliament should resort to such a strategy.
I have come to the conclusion that the palace of Westminster is really a holding pen for clawless, toothless and powerless pussy-cats; whenever you ask an MP to get involved, they trot out that old platitude that they cannot get involved in individual cases; even those to be discussed in a specific meeting within Westminster itself – or they state they will attend the meeting of which they have been appraised – if their parliamentary duties will permit: but you can be sure they won’t be going.
I once believed in our parliamentary system and democracy – I no longer do – it’s a charade; a power game for the ambitious.
